New San Diego Spots I’m Loving Right Now

As of September 2021

There is so much newness in San Diego lately and I AM HERE FOR IT! From coffee shops to trendy restaurants, San Diego is blowing up with cool and high quality eateries that draw a crowd every night of the week. Below are my favorite new spots that you definitely need to add to your list this fall!

Palmys-pacific beach

You need to grab breakfast at this tropical oasis that just opened in Pacific Beach! Palmys serves up major VACAY VIBES + delicious breakfast and lunch dishes, healthy smoothies and bowls, as well as coffee drinks. Order the horchata latte and breaky burrito and post up with your laptop to work remotely from this slice of paradie.

Camino Riveria-Little Italy

Tulum meets San Diego. This trendy restaurant is the perfect place to start your night out in Little Italy. Not only is the atmosphere so fun (think jungle party) but the food is delicious. I didn’t get to try their take on the gordita crunch with Wagyu beef, but loved the lamb shoulder barbacoa and cesar salad with fried twinkie croutons.

Queenstage cofee House-LEUCADIA

Located on the iconic 101 highway and connected to the brand new Hamburger Hut (another spot I need to try!), Queenstage is perfect for a slow weekend morning consisting of grabbing coffee and going on a beach walk. The coffee is AMAZING and so are the pastries, plus the interior design is the cutest surfer chic.

Wolfie’s carousel bar

Dinner and drinks on a rotating carousel bar…need I say more!? This beautiful new spot was literally designed for instagram-it’s picture perfect and so fun! Book a ressie in advance and request to sit at the bar because you don’t want to miss this unique experience in Little Italy!

Secret sister-south park

The bakery game is finally taking off in San Diego and Secret Sister is another one of those spots propelling that movement. This quaint shop, adjacent to the Rose Wine Bar in South Park, serves amazing freshly made bread, pastries, pie, sourdough scones, and other savory delights like quiche. Cozy up on their couch with a good book, a warm cup of tea and a treat, or opt for outdoor seating with some friends.

In case you missed my last blog post from June on new San Diego spots, another one of my favorite bakeries is Izola, located in East Village.

swagyu chop shop-pacific beach

Hands down the best burger in San Diego. Some people think its pricey for your order-at-the-counter burger shop, but it’s absolutely worth it for the high quality wagyu beef. There’s just nothing like it. Be sure to order the nitro potatoes too because they are bomb! Swagyu is casual but cool, with a great outdoor seating area. Plus its located right next door to Palmys, so make a trip to PB and hit both in the same day!

Seneca-Downtown San Diego

Atop the Intercontinental Hotel sits upscale Italian restaurant Seneca, which is Consortium Holding’s newest baby. The menu is centered around their woodfired oven (their pizzas are SO good) but they also offer fun items like tableside hand stretched mozzarella and a roaming cheese cart. Request to sit outside in their lush rooftop which overlooks the beautiful San Diego harbor.

Hoxton Manor-North Park

Former Dija Mara chef recently opened a similar and equally delicious restaurant in North Park called Hoxton Manor. This fun and funky new spot offers flavorful Southeast Asian dishes that are sure to delight your taste buds. Make a reservation for dinner or grab a seat at their indoor outdoor bar.
